Triple Core Stainless Steel Sheath Mineral Insulated Cable for Civil Snow Melting, is a kind of mineral insulated cable with three core conductors inside. It is widely used on civil projects such as airport or extreme cold areas for melting the snow to maintain safety level.
MI Cable possesses property of Big Carrying Capacity. The thermal conductivity and heat dissipation of magnesium oxide insulation material is much higher than that of mica or other organic ones.
Therefore, for cables with the same cross section, mineral insulated cables can deliver more current than mica-insulated or organic material insulated cables.
Due to the relevant national and international regulations on fire protection lines: flame retardant and fire-resistant organic material insulated cables must be laid with protective measures of metal pipe or closed bridge, while mineral insulated cables can be laid directly, so it can be considered less drop capacity coefficient than the organic insulated cables, therefore reduced the section requirements.
For lines of more than 16mm2, at least one section can be reduced, and for places where human contact is not allowed, at least two sections can be reduced.
Mineral Insulated Cable (short as MI Cable), it is also called magnesium oxide Cable or fire-resistant Cable as the wiring application.

Composition of Mineral insulated cable
Mineral insulated cable is a kind of cable which USES annealed copper as conductor, dense magnesium oxide as insulation and annealed copper pipe as sheath. If necessary, it can be squeezed with a layer of plastic outer sheath around the annealed copper sheath. For specially required occasions, a layer of low-smoke halogen free sheath can be applied.
