Welded Stainless Steel Honeycomb Core for Aero Engine Seal is further fabricated from honeycomb core which are being used on aero engine. It is a necessary part for the modern turbine machinery. Based on the honeycomb structure, the working fluid overflow in the radial clearances is minimized, the relative efficiency be increased, fuel consumption be reduced by 5% and abrasive wear of the turbine flow section be reduced as well.
The honeycomb seal for gas turbine is an abradable seal part, which is used to seal the turbine and compressor parts of the gas turbine. During operation, the labyrinth is cut into the abradable honeycomb seal by abrasion, thereby reducing the gap level which other technical solutions are difficult to achieve. The amount of air leaking has been greatly lowered.
The performance improvement of using the honeycomb compound ring in the 2nd and 3rd stages of GE's new E-CLASS (61A/B) gas turbine:

Spot welding device is three electrodes in the upper part, which carries five welding points across the width of the strip of corrugated sheet metal.
