Pasia basalt fiber roving is made of a bundle of parallel strands without twisting. The tensile strength of the roving 7 - 13μm≥0.6N/Tex, the elastic modulus is ≥100Gpa and the elongation at break is ≥3.1%. Compared with the PPTA and UHMWPE, this basalt fiber not only has the high strength, high modulus & excellent shock resistance but high temperature resistance, light resistance, especially, the surface combined with the resin, which has the better binder strength. So the basalt fiber is a kind of inorganic fiber, which can be used as the ballistic & protection material. In the composites, this basalt fiber has the inner explosive prevention function when used in the ballistic material and can prevent the danger from the explosive blast. Furthermore, it has some other advantages such as: no bounce, no spalling, no second execution fracture function, which can be used as the base material for the ceramic facing armoring system.

Derived from natural volcanic basalt rock and processed through advanced filament extrusion technology, this continuous filament yarn delivers an exceptional combination of impact strength, vibration damping, and thermal stability – making it the ideal choice for manufacturing high-end brake pads, clutch plates, and marine friction components.
Unlike chopped or short-cut fibers, our continuous filament construction ensures uniform load distribution, superior interfacial bonding with resin matrices, and consistent mechanical performance throughout the finished component. The yarn is available in various tex counts and can be customized with specialized sizing agents compatible with phenolic or epoxy resin systems.

Application Cases:
 
--Continuous basalt roving of 1200tex and 2400tex are preferred to making mesh fabrics, geo grille and base cloth for high-temperature filtration needled felts, which can be reliably used at the temperature zone from -260℃ to 650℃; Which has stable handling property at super low-temperature
-- Continuous basalt fiber roving of 4800tex and 2400tex is preferred to filament winding of pipes and tanks resistant to high- temperature, super low temperature, chemical corrosion and high-pressure.
-- Hybrid use with carbon fiber to filament-wind LPG and natural gas tanks;
-- Heat shields for tank gun tubes, gun turrets, etc.
-- Used as the base bulletproof material.
